Topics to include: What constitutes a sick patient? / Hypovolaemia, GI haemorrhage & acute hepatic failure / Oliguria, acute kidney failure / Metabolic emergencies / Unconscious patient, status epilepticus, meningitis / Hypotensive patient, the septic patient / Hypothermia, hyperthermia, overdose / Acute heart failure, arrhythmias / Dyspnoea, acute asthma, pneumothorax / Myocardial infarction, chest pain.
